The area of Prespes is one of the least studied in the area of traditional architecture.  Its remarkable settlements have preserved, due to their being abandoned, their traditional character up to this day.  However, this abandonment from now on, can prove to be catastrophic if certain measures for its protection are not taken.

Recently,Agios Germanos was declared a preserved traditional settlement, and there has been a noted rise in rebuilding, with supposed controls and fragile prospects.
